AIM

The IV International Congress of Comparative Studies– IV CONIEC, will be held at the State University of Paraíba - UEPB, Campina Grande-PB, Brazil during 22 to 24 of September, 2009. The congress, with its theme “Cultures, Religions and Sexualities in Modern Times”, will focus on the discussion that will reflect on the changes taking place in our understanding of the concepts and roles of cultures, religions and sexualities from antiquity to modernity.

The objective is to bring together works from different fields of knowledge such as anthropology, history, philosophy, public relations, literature, linguistics, psychology, science and others working from a comparative perspective. The IV COINEC will not only contribute to solidify one of the agenda of comparative studies, of interdisciplinary but will also strengthen the relationship between  the academic works, research and extension, the ties between the theory and the practice. What we, the comparative critics, have to offer to this debate? How this discussion will bring forward the actual discussion on culture, religion and sexuality in modern times?
